Sealing system „Cool and Clean“
Our sealing system “Cool and Clean” for the extruder cooling is more and more built into our barrels.
In order to explain this system respectively to make clear how the customer himself can change the sealing we have prepared a photo documentation. Below you find the step-by-step explanation how to build in the sealing:
1. The barrel “Cool and Clean” is produced. The three-stage groove is the basic requirement for sealing the barrel cooling with “Cool and Clean”.
2. The pressure ring
3. At first the pressure ring is put into the smaller groove. It protects the sealing against the water vapor going through the cooling channels. When inserting the pressure ring two very small gaps are created. Only those gaps have to be sealed by the sealing.
4. The sealing
5. This specially designed sealing has to be put on the pressure ring into the wide groove. By placing the sealing both gaps are sealed.
6. Second pressure ring
7. The second pressure ring is put on top of the sealing into the widest groove. Right now it protrudes from the flange face of the barrel. But when assembling the barrels the flange faces are contracted by the flange screws and the sealing is compressed to the predefined slump.
